While in Kenai, it is a must to go fishing with the bears at Wolverine Creek. We book trips from our campground where you can be picked up, then you will take a 20-30 minute flight across the inlet and get into a boat that will take you over to the bears. The guide will supply all of your fishing equipment, as well as clean and fillet your catch at the end of the day. Our guests have been seeing lots of bears. There are so many fish in this area that the black and brown bear will actually tolerate each other, and the triplets all survived and were seen the following year. This is definetly a trip not to miss!
It's fun to hear the bears growling and grunting over the fish they catch....the cubs don't like sharing!
There are so many fish the black and brown bear will tolerate each other.
Another gourmet meal!
The bears don't even seem to notice people in the area.
It's amazing how close you are to the bears!
Sow with triplets.
Each bear has a different way of fishing, and it's quite entertaining to see them in action!
Usually the runt won't survive, but because there were so many fish, all three cubs were seen the following year.
It's a lot of fun to watch the cubs.
It's about a 20-30 minute flight across Cook Inlet before you get in the boat and go to the bears.
All of the gear is provided. Our guests have all been catching their limit of Red Salmon while they're there.
This is definetly something you don't want to miss!
